The Florida Legislature recently enacted into law a bill authorizing remote online notarization and the execution of electronic wills. The online notarization statute, section 117.265, Fla. Stat., took effect on January 1, 2020, and the statute providing the method for executing an electronic will, section 732.522, Fla. Stat. takes effect on July 1, 2020.

Florida statutes set forth the requirements for remote online notarization and the execution of an electronic will.
